Ways to Work Together

Care at Invera is designed to be structured, time-limited, and built around what you actually need — not an open-ended commitment with an unclear endpoint. There are two ways to get started, depending on where you are and what you are looking for.

Both are delivered via telehealth. Both are available to clients in New York and across all PSYPACT-participating states. And both are designed with one goal in mind: to give you something concrete and useful by the time we are done.

  • $250 · 90 minutes · Single session

The Clarity Consultation is a single extended session designed to give you something most people never get from the mental health system: a clear, honest picture of what is actually going on. In 90 minutes, we will do a thorough clinical assessment, map what is driving your symptoms, and talk through what effective treatment for your specific situation looks like — at Invera or elsewhere.

This is a good fit if you:

    • Are not sure what you are dealing with or where to start

    • Want a second opinion or a clearer clinical picture

    • Are trying to figure out whether therapy is the right next step — and what kind

    • Want expert input before committing to ongoing care

    What you walk away with

    • A clear clinical formulation of your presenting concerns

    • Honest, specific recommendations for next steps and treatment approaches

    • A written summary of the consultation findings

The Clarity Consultation is complete in itself — there is no obligation to continue. It is also the starting point for both the Skills Package and Ongoing Care, for those who want to keep working together.

  • $1,000 · 5 sessions · Short-term, structured care

The Skills Package is a complete, contained course of care with a defined beginning, middle, and end. It is designed for people who are ready to work and want a structured arc — not open-ended therapy, but focused skill-building around a specific concern.

The first session is assessment-focused: we spend the first part clarifying your goals and building the framework that guides the remaining four sessions. From there we move directly into active, skills-based work tailored to your presentation.

    What the five sessions include

    • Session 1 — goals clarification, assessment, and treatment planning

    • Sessions 2–4 — active skills-based work using CBT, ERP, and/or ACT

    • Session 5 — consolidation, progress review, and relapse prevention planning

This is a good fit if you:

    • Have a specific, defined concern you want to address in a structured way

    • Are ready to engage actively — practicing tools, not just discussing them

    • Want time-limited care with a clear arc and a defined endpoint

The Skills Package is designed to stand on its own. For some clients, five sessions is exactly what they need. For others, it becomes the foundation for Ongoing Care — if that feels relevant, we will discuss it honestly at session five.

  • $200 per session · Weekly or biweekly · Typically 6–8 months

Ongoing Care is for people whose goals or presentation call for more time, depth, and continuity than a single package provides. It follows the same evidence-based framework — CBT, ERP, and ACT adapted to your specific concerns — with more room to go deeper, practice more thoroughly, and address complexity as it emerges.

This is not open-ended therapy. It is longer-term work that is still built around a plan — one we develop together at the outset, track throughout, and revisit regularly so every phase of treatment has a purpose. Most clients engage for six to eight months. The right length depends on what you are working on and how it unfolds.

This is a good fit if you:

    • Are dealing with a complex or layered presentation that needs more depth to address

    • Want the continuity of an ongoing relationship — space to apply and refine skills over time

    • Are navigating a longer transition, such as the full perinatal period or sustained OCD treatment

    • Have tried shorter-term work and found you needed more support to consolidate progress

    What to expect

    • Early sessions — assessment, goal-setting, and treatment planning

    • Middle phase — active skills work, exposure practice, and pattern interruption

    • Later sessions — consolidation, relapse prevention, and a planned, intentional ending

The goal of Ongoing Care is not to keep you in therapy. It is to give you what you need to not need therapy — and to know what to do if that changes.

  • Not sure which fits?

Here is a simple way to think about it:

    • The Clarity Consultation — you want a clear clinical picture before committing to anything, or you are not yet sure what you need

    • The Skills Package — you have a specific concern and are ready to work on it in a contained, structured way

    • Ongoing Care — your presentation is complex, layered, or involves a longer transition that unfolds over months

When in doubt, start with the Clarity Consultation. It is designed to answer exactly this question — and it is the starting point for both packages if you decide to continue.

  • Invera Psychology is a private pay practice. I know cost is a real consideration. Superbills are available upon request for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through out-of-network benefits — many insurance plans cover a portion of specialty care. Fees for any services beyond what is listed here are discussed during a consultation.
